The Sierra de Guara comprises more than 200 catalogued ravines of varying levels and difficulty. This makes it the cradle of canyoning, as it offers a wide variety of canyons suitable for all levels. From descents for beginners, perfect for enjoying an adventure for the whole family, to more technical ones with high-altitude abseiling and difficulty.
Canyoning in Sierra de Guara for beginners:
- Barranco de Barrasil: A simple route lasting around 5 hours, perfect for beginners to canyoning.
- Barranco de Petit Mascún : Introductory session to get the youngest members of the family started.
- Barranco del Vero: A ravine of great scenic beauty, without abseiling and with crystal-clear pools, which takes around 6 hours to complete.
Canyoning in Sierra de Guara For intermediate levels:
- Barranco de la Peonera: A ravine without abseils, this is the ultimate water descent in the Sierra and great fun due to the number of jumps along its route, which takes between 4 and 5 hours..
- Barranco Fornocal: IA must for spring descents, carved out of conglomerate and limestone rock. Its route is winding and combines different abseils with a maximum height of around 15 metres.
- Barranco del Oscuro de Balcés: A short but complete and spectacular route, it is always important to assess the water flow.

- Barranco de Gorgonchón: A very short and very technical ravine, with more difficult abseils and narrow passages.
- Barranco de Gorgas Negras: Undoubtedly the most iconic and demanding route in the Sierra de Guara. This is a 12-hour activity, only for the most experienced, as it is a long and extremely wet descent, in contact with cold water.
- Barranco de Mascún: Considered one of the most beautiful in Europe, it is a symbol of the Sierra de Guara. A 9-hour tour through a gem carved out of limestone rock.
